Meet Monday to turn down Dam Pub volume

We live not far from The Dam Pub and have been disturbed by the loud music, loud-talking patrons on the patio or on their way to their vehicles, traffic and parking problems on many occasions over the past two summers.

We feel the problems are escalating as the pub is becoming less compatible with the neighbourhood.

The pub owner has recently asked the town for an exemption from the noise bylaw to allow them to have music outside for longer hours on Thursdays and Sundays until 9 p.m. and Fridays and Saturdays until 11 p.m.

We want to appeal to residents of the immediate area, those who are most affected by this, as well as residents of the community in general to support our right to quiet enjoyment of our property and our neighbourhood. This could set a precedent that could affect your neighbourhood some day.

The public meeting on this matter is set for Monday, April 14 during the regular council meeting which starts at 7 p.m. at the L.E. Shore Library.

Please help us get our peace and quiet back.
