Get ready for a whole lotta shakin' as Joe Passion takes the Meaford Hall stage in a tribute to legend Jerry Lee Lewis on Saturday, April 26.
Jerry Lee Lewis said rock 'n roll is the Devil's music - be prepared to get close to the Devil's music next weekend! This show, live with complete narration of the life and times of this musical legend affectionately named 'The Killer,' will take you on a two-hour journey through time.
Featuring hits such as Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin' On, Great Balls of Fire and Roll Over Beethoven - this evening will entertain the young and young-at-heart.
Though he had only three Top 10 hits in the first, purely rock-and-roll, phase of his career, many critics believe Jerry Lee Lewis was as talented a '50s rocker as Sun labelmate Elvis Presley. Some also believe that Jerry Lee Lewis could have made it just as big commercially if his piano-slamming musical style was not so relentlessly wild, his persona not so threateningly hard-edged.
Jerry Lee Lewis has had a hard life of triumph and tragedy - come and celebrate the ups and downs of 'The Killer' at Meaford Hall on Saturday April 26 at 8 p.m.. Tickets are $25 each and are available from the Meaford Hall Box Office seven days a week, or by calling 1-877-538-0463.
The show takes place in the newly renovated Opera House at 12 Nelson St. Up next at Meaford Hall is the Meaford Film Club presentation of Bon Cop, Bad Cop on May 15, followed by Shania Twin on May 23.
