Heathcote Hall was one victim of this week's flooding

Rain and warm temperatures combined to melt the heavy snow pack and cause flooding Tuesday, at points along the Beaver River.

The Heathcote Hall was flooded once again as the water surged with the run-off.

The Hall, closed a few years ago because of the damage done by past floods, is due to be replaced by a community pavilion. Flooding was also seen in low-lying areas near Cowper's Bend (between Heathcote and Clarksburg).

The rising waters were creeping over the banks in Clarksburg by mid-day. Officials were hoping the return of cold weather would slow the rush of water.
