A native of Meaford is taking on a new role with Theatre Collingwood.
Tanya Mazza, who worked for Theatre Collingwood as a summer student in 1986, has returned to the troupe as Development Manager.
Mazza said her experience in 1986 helped convince her to pursue a career in theatre and arts administration. She spent 12 years on the marketing and development staff of the National Ballet School in Toronto. Her duties there dealt primarily with fund raising.
She'll have a similar role as Theatre Collingwood's Development Manager, helping to develop the troupe's fund raising and capital campaign.
"The arts have always been a big part of my life," Mazza said. "Experiences such as my involvement with Theatre Collingwood, more than 20 years ago, have motivated me to follow a career path in the cultural sector. Now, I’m thrilled to return to my roots and give back to my community."
Darrin Smith, chair of Theatre Collingwood's board of directors, said the company welcomes Mazza's experience as work toward building a new home for Theatre Collingwood begins.
"Tanya is committed to our artistic vision and brings significant fundraising talents and business expertise to our professional administration," Smith said. "We’re preparing for our next, exciting plateau of growth."
