Five charged after drug raid

Five people were arrested on drug charges after a raid by the OPP last week in Collingwood.

Police said they seized 17 grams of crack cocaine and one gram of marijuana after searching a home on Matthew St. in Collingwood. The street value of the seized drugs was estimated at about $1,700. 

Police also seized $780 in Canadian currency, a knife, scales and packaging material.

Officers from the OPP's Central North Drug Unit, Collingwood OPP, and Central Region Canine Unit took part in the raid.

Two men in their 20s were arrested, along with a 31-year-old Collingwood woman.

All three were charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking and possession of cannabis marijuana for the purpose of trafficking. The two men also each face a charge of breach of undertaking and one man is also charged with possession of a prohibited weapon.

Two youths were also charged.

As well, police said, two children who were in the house at the time were removed and Children's Aid authorities were notified.
