Blue Mountain Resorts are fully open!

Snow and cooler temperatures, along with additional snow-making capability, allowed resort staff to get the Smart Alec and Easy Street runs set to open Friday, Nov. 30.

More snow and frigid temperatures over the weekend meant more runs would open the following week.

During the past summer Blue added a new 1,000-gallon/minute snowmaking pump, allowing the resort to make 13,000 gallons of snow per minute. Meanwhile, 18 new towers were erected on Smart Alec, the resort's central ski and snowboard run.

Snowmakers can run the system at full capacity when air temperatures dip to around -6 C or colder.

Skiers and snowboarders can check daily conditions and get updates on which runs are open by visiting www.bluemountain.ca/winter_conditions_weather.htm
