The Meaford Lawn Bowling Club, situated behind the Esso Station on Sykes St., would like to invite everyone to learn the game and rules of lawn bowling. We are holding clinics on June 11, 18 and 25 at 7 p.m. Come on out and see what fun you can have. Remember to wear flat shoes.

There will be a bottle drive of beer and all LCBO bottles, on Saturday, June 14, at the Thornbury Post Office Parking Lot, in Support of the New Community Family Health Centre to be built in Thornbury.

The Beaver Valley Athletic Association will be hosting a Memorial Baseball Day. This will be a day for enjoying the great game of baseball and for remembering those who are no longer here to enjoy it with us.

This day will see all teams playing, from T-Ball to Midget, and all three diamonds in use. There will also be a raffle table and a food booth.   It will be a day to enjoy some great baseball and watch these emerging players.  Come out and support baseball in our community and cheer on the home teams.

The 11th-annual Rocklyn Classic Car and Tractor Show goes Sunday at the Rocklyn Fair Grounds, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Brunch served from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. $6 adults, $3 kids three-12 years, exhibitors welcome, no fee; free admission to drivers. Admission $3, or $10 per family.

The Grey County Historical Society will meet Wednesday, June 18 at 1:30 pm. at Christ Church Anglican, Meaford. There will be a tour of the church to see the memorial windows made from stained glass from bombed churches of World War Two. This will be followed by a visit to the recently renovated Meaford Museum . All are welcome.

The Ford Wayne Gretzky Classic takes place at the Raven at Lora Bay. The event will feature about 160 pro golfers competing on the Nationwide Tour for $809,000 in prize money.

Summer sailing classes for children and young people - weekly during July and August at Meaford Harbour. Half-day and full-day classes available. Let our certified instructors use our sailboats to introduce you to the pleasures of sailing! Sail Georgian Bay is a non profit community organization dedicated to teaching the fun of safe sailing.
