Grey County officials hope to start construction on the new Grier Creek bridge by early June, according to a timeline announced last week.

Grey Director of Transportation and Public Safety Gary Shaw said the county plans to call tenders by April 25, closing on May 16.

If there's an accepted bid it will go to the Transportation and Public Safety Committie on May 22 and, if approved there, to County Council for ratification June 3. That would set up a construction start for June 9, Shaw said.
